A warm welcome to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge's web site.

mmg pgm wilksWe hope you enjoy your visit to our pages and that the information here is of use to you.  This website represents the next stage of the Lodge's development. The primary purpose of the site is to facilitate communication with, and amongst, members of the Lodge and the Province. A secondary purpose, however, is to assist those who visit the site to gain an awareness of the Lodge, and its position within the Province.  We hope that the public parts of the site will be of interest and encourage a better understanding of our Lodge.

OUR RAISON D'ETRE

The Lodge exists to serve the Masonic Province of Hampshire and Isle of Wight as directed by the Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro Michael J. Wilks.

About the Lodge

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge was founded in 1987 at the instigation of the then Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master James Bullen. Membership of the Lodge is restricted to brethren who have been appointed to the Masonic rank of Provincial Grand Steward.  Accordingly the Lodge comprises brethren who have demonstrated considerable Masonic ability which has been recognised by the Province. The Lodge is the medium by which such brethren can serve the Province, and demonstrate their continuing commitment, prior to their appointment to a more senior Provincial rank.

Lecture Teams

Immediately following its foundation the Lodge commenced working lectures for other lodges, and this has become a very important part of the lodge activities. Lectures have been worked not only in our own Province, but in many other Provinces around the country. This has served to enhance the reputation of the Lodge, and also freemasonry within our Province.
